The Adansi South District is one of the 27 districts in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The district lies within latitude 40” North and 6 degress 22” North and longtitude 1 degree West and 1 degree 38 West. It is situated in the south-eastern part of the Ashanti Region. The District shares boundaries with the Central and Eastern regions to the south and east respectively, and with the Adansi North, Amansie East and Asante Akim South Districts of the Ashanti Region to the north-west, north-east and south-east respectively. The district capital is New Edubiase, which is about 92km south of Kumasi on the Kumasi – Cape Coast trunk road.

The district total population is estimated at more than 98,437 with high basic school enrolment and daily increase due to the migrant nature of the population.
There is great potential for tourism in the district. The eight forest reserves, waterfalls at Nyamkomasu, Tewobaabi and Adansi Kenya and the beautiful scenic mountain ranges in the north western part of the district are all very attractive tourist attractions.
